Graphic Narrative Contest (2011)
This year, Sliced Bread Magazine held its first ever Graphic Narrative Competition, in which we gave people just 48 hours to create 1-3 page graphic narratives based on a prompt. Many teams and individuals participated, and the results were unbelievable. We narrowed it down to five semifinalists, and left it up to the University of Chicago community to determine who would win our first- and second-place cash prizes.
Now, the community has spoken, and the winners are as follows:
First place ($75 each): "The One," by Kunal Basu-Dutta and Won Huh
Second place ($25 each): "A Day in the Life," by Julia Wetherell and Adrianne Okoh
We're leaving the semifinalists posted because the level of work in all five of them was so high that we wanted to continue sharing it with all of you. If you want to download larger images, you may do so using the link on the right side of this screen.
