It's filled with things we couldn't fit into the magazine but thought deserved some love nonetheless!

Also, come to our LAUNCH PARTY. It's at McCormick Lounge in Reynolds Club at 8PM this Monday, the 14th! There will be food and music and 1500 magazines we will be distributing!

Sometimes things don't go as planned

Putting together the magazine is always a very extensive process. Not only creatively (we spend a lot of time thinking which works should share pages/spreads), but also logistically! From organizing submissions, keeping talleys of votes, notifying authors, and letting them take one last peek at their work before it's off to print, a lot of hiccups pop up. Most of them are stressful; this one was just funny. And don't worry -- we got his permission to post it here!

It's over! We're done! We've finished!

We've kneaded and tossed and flipped and flopped plenty of pages of delicious poetry, prose, and visual art into finish product and put it in the oven (shipped it off to the printer). It'll be baked to perfection in a few weeks.

In the meanwhile, we're selecting new editors to replace those leaving (goodbye Weiling and Molly!) and planning our launch party. We're also working on putting up a few podcasts and a surprise!

If you've not heard about your piece or are confused or just want to get in touch and say hi, send an email to editors@slicedbreadmag.com. We'll answer ASAP (as salty as a pretzel?)!

Oh dear...

It's that time of year again. Time to read and decide and design and print. Yikes!

We'll be pretty busy the next few months, but if you have any questions about anything, email us at editors@slicedbreadmag.com. Wondering if your submission has been lost in the bakery somewhere? No worries, email spencerwatts@uchicago.edu to check up on it (but expect to hear back from us by the end of 10th week!).

And yes, this means our metaphorical bread basket is brimming with buns, and we don't think we could stuff one more in! So save your submissions for the next issue; we're excited to see/read/experience them!
