A Travel Writing Contest

The second annual TRAVEL WRITING CONTEST, sponsored by Sliced Bread and the Study Abroad Office, is now ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS for the 2009-2010 academic year!

Just for writing about your study abroad experience, you could have a shot at

Come see performances by Dean's Men, Occam's Razor, U Ballet, UC Dancers, RBIM, Off-Off Campus, Men in Drag, Ransom Notes, Voices in Your Head, Golosa Russian Choir, and student band Sparrow Down. Plus: open-mic and art displays by FOTA, a tango demonstration and lessons, and arts and crafts workshops run by Art Should.

These schools have agreed to publish in their spring issues the very best University of Chicago student prose and poetry, which the staff of Sliced Bread will be choosing over the next several weeks.  Sliced Bread, in turn, will publish the best work of those four schools in our annual issue.

Most importantly for you, dear submitters -- It’s not too late to send your work for consideration!  We'll be accepting your finest creative work until January 31st.  Please feel free to forward any questions about the consortium to editors@slicedbreadmag.com.
