We are looking for anything that is fresh. Our most successful contributors often do not do anything revolutionary; they manage find a way to re-tell a story in an original fashion that connects with a universally personal chord within our entire staff of over thirty reviewers.

Hard? Hell yeah. We accept less than 25% of all submissions. Impossible? No. Should you be intimidated? NEVER. Do you need a special background in anything? Uh-uh. While a sense of style helps (this can't really be taught, trust us), our successful contributors are not just English majors and Visual arts bo-hos; they come from all backgrounds. Some are submitting something for the first time to any sort of review process. Just because you have been published in a literary journal or your art exhibited at a show does not mean it will be accepted. We're an eclectic bunch of reviewers. Yes, we get sick of love poetry and vacation photos because we see them far too often. But that doesn't mean your love poem or photograph isn't original, for all you know, we'll think it is, and we'll want to include it in the magazine.

The bottom line: JUST SUBMIT.
